Hace unas noches estuve jugando con un amigo Marvel: Ultimate Alliance y la pasamos muy bien. La posibilidad de jugar cooperativamente hace que la experiencia sea mucho más divertida que jugar solo. Este tipo de juegos no son nuevos, han existido desde siempre, pero últimamente están volviendo a ponerse de moda. Uno de los primeros juegos cooperativos que jugué fue Goof Troop, para SNES. En él, ambos jugadores (utilizando a Goofy y a su hijo Max) trabajaban juntos para llegar a nuevas áreas y vencer a los enemigos que les salían al paso. Tenían que realizar acciones sincronizadas y exigía mucha comunicación. Otros juegos cooperativos muy conocidos eran los shooters en 2D como Contra 3 o los Metal Slug.
